There are several regional offices across the country that provide a range of support and services to centres. Regional Development Managers (RDMs) are responsible for visiting centres and provide substantive advice and support at all levels within each centre. This includes:
- advice, guidance and support on every aspect of Edexcel – by phone, email, visits
- support on policy and curriculum planning for senior managers
- centre visits – updates and surgeries on curriculum and quality issues
- guidance on the administration and delivery of Edexcel programmes
- organisation of regional network meetings for all sectors
A key update that Regional Development Managers have provided for centres recently is on the Revisions to Assessment and Quality Assurance for NQF BTEC Programmes from September 2004. This includes notification of the new registration date - 1st November 2004 - for all NQF BTEC level 1-3 programmes. As part of these updates, RDMs have been highlighting our Policy on Assessment Malpractice (new in September 2004). This policy, together with other guidance documents, for example on completed units, assessment and grading - application of criteria, can be found on our main website on the Policies for Centres page.
